Saltmeadow Kitchen

About us

A coastal kitchen teaching confident cooking

We started Saltmeadow Kitchen with one belief: anyone can cook well when a recipe is honest and a teacher is near. Ten years on, that is still our whole method.

Our story

Saltmeadow began as Saturday classes in a salt-air cottage kitchen, with one pan, six stools and a waiting list. Today our test kitchen develops every recipe on this site — cooked three times, tasted by a panel, and written so a first-timer succeeds on the first try.

We teach pasta nights, market-driven salads, slow soups and celebration bakes. Small groups, real ingredients, and teachers who cook beside you rather than at you.

How we teach

Small classes

Twelve cooks maximum, so every question gets answered and every dish gets tasted.

Seasonal first

Menus follow the market. You learn to cook what is ripe, local and at its best.

Tested thrice

Every published recipe survives three test cooks before it earns a place here.
